| Warren O. Severson, mécanicien navigant dans l’US army Air force RésuméEn 1942, le jeune Américain Warren O. Severson est affecté à l’École des mécaniciens navigants au Texas où il est formé avant d’être affecté en Europe sur bombardier B-26. Le 13 février 1945, son avion est abattu au-dessus de l’Allemagne. Après une longue fuite, il est fait prisonnier et conduit au camp de Nuremberg d’où il est libéré par l’armée du général Patton le 29 avril 1945. Ce sont ces grands événements de sa vie qui sont racontés dans une lettre qu’il a adressée en 1980 à l’un de ses amis. In 1942, the young American Warren O. Severson was assigned to a school in Texas where he was trained before being sent to a B-26 bomber formation in Europe. On 13 February 1945, his plane was shot down over Germany. After a long attempt to escape capture, he was taken prisoner and interned in the camp in Nuremberg where he was liberated by Patton’s army on 29 April 1945.
